Local Hotlines and Referral Services

Champaign County Crisis Line

The Champaign County Crisis Line provides telephone support and referral to area residents 24 hours a day. Trained personnel provide services to callers who are experiencing personal, relationship or mental health crises, including suicidal thoughts. Callers leave a safe phone number and a name, and the worker then returns their call.

Crisis Nursery

Crisis Nursery provides 24-hour emergency care for children and support to strengthen families in crisis. Crisis Nursery is open 24 hours, 365 days a year for the entire community to access with no fees or income eligibility. Besides safe shelter for children, ages birth through six, Crisis Nursery also provides family support and parenting education to strengthen parent skills and confidence.

Child Care Resource Service is a resource and referral agency dedicated to supporting children, families and the childcare community by promoting options in accessibility, affordability, and quality childcare. CCRS can provide parents with childcare options and referrals, as well as assist income eligible families in paying for childcare. CCRS also offers childcare providers with information about trainings, best practices, and connect them to parents seeking childcare.

The Pavilion

The Pavilion provides inpatient and partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents, adults and the geriatric population in need of treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency/addiction disorders. Assessments are provided free of charge, 24 hours a day. The Pavilion also provides eating disorders treatment and free community education programs that are open to people experiencing problems and to their families and friends.

The Family Service Counseling Program provides individual, couple, child, and family counseling. Counseling focuses on a wide variety of issues including parenting, family conflict, relationships, depression and anxiety, issues of adult children of alcoholics and survivors of sexual abuse. Conflict resolution, art therapy and play therapy services are also offered. Sliding fee scale. Insurance accepted.

The Rosecrance agency offers outpatient treatment for mental health and substance use disorders for adults. Services include testing and assessment, community support, mental health specialty court services, and substance abuse intensive outpatient programs. Fees vary depending on services, some private insurance accepted; sliding fee scale available for psychiatry, Medicaid/Medicare accepted.

Home Visiting is a free, voluntary program that brings support to your doorstep! Home visitors work with you and your family to focus on your goals, support you in your role as a parent, and help connect you to resources in the community. The Consortium is a group of agencies working to help the community.
